Matt Deeb believes nonprofit leaders maximize the impact of their expertise and experience when they are able to focus on their individual core competencies.

After more than 20 years in the accounting field, and over a decade as CFO of The Healing Trust, a Nashville, TN-based foundation, Matt understands the impact that expert accounting, investing, and financial support can bring to an organization. While at The Healing Trust, Matt set up the entire financial system for the new $130 million foundation and focused on how a foundation’s investment portfolio served as the engine of its philanthropy. As CFO, he guided the organization in achieving its goal of generating long-term investment performance capable of sustaining the relevance of its giving power into the future.

In achieving this goal, he recognized a desire to help other nonprofits and foundations build portfolios capable of achieving their investment and mission goals. Nonprofit Consulting Services was started in 2022 to give nonprofit and foundation leaders the accounting and financial support they are often missing.

Originally from Tallahassee, FL, Matt earned his B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Florida State University. To support his work with investments, in 2016 he earned the credential of a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
